Our Campaign’s Top Issues

Simply put, I am running so I can work towards improving the lives of West Virginians.

Utilities - Jobs - Health care - Transportation - Affordable Housing

These are just a few of the obstacles that West Virginians face on a daily basis and are not being addressed by our current elected officials. Below is just the start!

  • Public Utilities

  • Job Creation

  • Health Care

  • Transportation

  • Affordable Housing
  • Voting Rights

Public Utilities

Accountability has to be returned to the public utilities servicing West Virginia. Utilities like American Water, AEP and Mon Power request rate hikes on what seems like a daily basis, and yet the upgrades they give as a reason for them are dismal at best. These companies make record profits year after year while our citizens continue to suffer from poor service and record high bills.

Job Creation

West Virginia's coal is the best in the world to make steel, but we are more than coal mines. The people of West Virginia are skilled and hard working, our elected officials just need to give investors a good reason to come to our state. I intend on finding creative ways to bring quality, safe jobs to our state and putting forth legislation to slow AI from taking what we have.

Health Care

West Virginia is a health care desert. Health insurance is now expensive enough to send the majority of West Virginians into poverty, and for what? Just to pay a deductible you'll never meet. I will propose a radical bill using wasted federal resources to expand medicare to as much of the population as possible.

Transportation

My career is in transportation engineering and West Virginia has one of the largest road networks, and highest number of bridges of the 50 states. Getting residents from the hollows and the ridges to the towns is increasingly difficult. I intend on bringing bills that will increase our public transportation network and better maintain our roadways.

Affordable Housing

West Virginia needs housing! To get that though needs investment and diversification. Corporations own large numbers of rental properties throughout the state with rental rates double that of a mortgage. We need to limit how many properties a corporation can own to give single home buyers a chance at owning their first home.

Voting Rights

It is already illegal for non US citizens to vote in our elections. We do not need more legislation making it harder for US citizens to vote. I will vote against any and all bills that make it more difficult for any citizen of West Virginia to legally cast their ballot.
